The truth is: I did NOT #vote today. In some ways, choosing not to vote is, in itself, a form of advocacy – a refusal to endorse a system that has continually allowed this suffering to persist. For me in particular, right now, it also feels like a matter of circumstance: I’m abroad, caught between work and two little kids, a bit less organized than I should be…and, a New Yorker, where my lack of vote will not necessarily have an impact on the winner. But, I also think it would have been different if the ballots were different.Would I have chosen differently if I were in a state where my vote would have actually counted? I’m not sure. But if I were in a state where it strongly mattered, and if I had voted for #Harris, this article would have reflected every single one of my feelings.“I voted for Kamala Harris, even though I think that places me on the wrong side of history.Given Ms. Harris’s competition, I calculated that voting for her was the least harmful thing I could do. But that doesn’t mean I feel good about it. I can’t relate to Democrats and liberals who describe voting for Ms. Harris as an unadulterated act of virtue. I’ll never forget that the #Bidenadministration — in which Ms. Harris was second in command, and whose #MiddleEast policies she promises to carry on unchanged — bears responsibility for the mass murder and starvation of trapped Palestinian civilians in the #Gaza Strip.” #SystemChange #USElections #Gaza

One should never vote for the 'lesser of two evils'. Evil is evil regardless. And if you vote for the devil you know, you get a devil.

Same here, Aline. I didn't vote either, for the exact same reasons.

If the majority of the Justices on the US Supreme Court don't uphold democracy/accountability, it's clear that one third of our government has been corrupted by undemocratic influences. With an undemocratic President, two thirds of our govt could be lost to Big Money & unaccountable political demagogues. My email message to Lindsay Whitehurst at the Associated Press:Lindsay;Thank you for your articleon the Supreme Court's ruling regarding presidential immunity.I can only say that I am deeply concerned about the future of democratic principles in our nation.A growing number of politicians and voters support the idea of an authoritarian President. George Washington set the standard for future Commanders In Chief when he refused to support the idea of a king-like presidency. As we approach Independence Day it is highly ironic that some of the ideals which sparked a revolution are now considered outdated by a political party and by the US Supreme Court. Imagine how terrible you have to be as a government (both executive and legislative) that you have to threaten people to show patriotism.I don't even want to talk about the depravity and shamelessness of the 10th Assembly. It's astonishing that in a nation facing severe challenges-from economic instability to insecurity-the legislative focus is on criminalizing citizens who choose not to sing or do not even know the words of a new national anthem, while behaving as minions to the executive. Patriotism is not something that can be coerced; it is earned through leadership that inspires trust, hope, and a sense of belonging. This move only deepens the disconnect between the government and the people, highlighting how far removed our leaders are from the realities and priorities of everyday Nigerians. Rather than fostering unity and pride, such draconian measures only breed resentment and further erode the very foundations of democracy and freedom that the anthem is supposed to represent. Also to mention that since the inception of this assembly, all they’ve ever done is criminalize or force things on citizens without due consultation- from changing a whole national anthem in less than 48 hours to aiding the restrictions on citizens right to protest and approving frivolous capital expenditures of no importance to the nation. Is Democracy still the answer??

I am very much decided, that I will vote #Uncommitted. I’ve seen on social media what’s really happening in the Middle East and I’ve observed how our news agencies and politicians distort the facts.I read “The Diary of Anne Frank” in school and cannot support either Donald #Trump or #Kamala Harris because both endorse war against those living in open-air concentration camps, deprived of adequate nutrition, clean water, and basic freedoms because of how they were born. Neither candidate would halt weapons shipments, cooperate with the UN, support the International Court of Justice, or hold Israel accountable for rebuilding Gaza.Growing up, I also learned that “separate but equal” is not equal at all. Yet neither political party promotes Israel to integrate Muslims and Christians into their society. Both parties tolerate a so-called “two state solution” or Apartheid, allowing Israel to maintain racially segregated roads and infrastructure with checkpoints to needlessly harass people who need to go to work, school, or the grocery store every day. Both look the other way and tolerate when Jewish settlers from NY steal the home of a Palestinian who has lived in the West Bank for generations; or when Palestinians are incarcerated indefinitely without charge or trial, and then sexually abused. Neither Party addressed “the issues” of this generation, which college students protested so passionately for. I can’t support racism or ethnic cleansing, but will vote because the power of one matters: people like me don’t make the news but we stopped buying pumpkin lattes, burgers, and potato chips from corporations actively funding #genocide, and stock prices are still tumbling. But don’t be deceived, we promote constructive not destructive behaviors. We believe we are “one nation under God”, and if your candidate loses I’m sorry but my conscious will be clean because America can do better.

The drift down the political disaster is evident in the current gap in the elite accord driving our politics since the end of our civil war, particularly the increasingly disturbing criminalisation of our electoral politics, and the attempt to delegitimise the state and its institutions at our federal, state and local government levels.

Sectarianism in British politics is lauded simply by the fact it is not addressed by the mainstream media or political parties. Mr Galloway says his victory 'is for Gaza'. Why? What about #rochdale? Does Rochdale not have any problems of it's own? Is it the norm now to bully, harass and threaten candidates in an election? It would be great if British politicians represent the British interests, not those of foreign nations or international institutions. This serves as more evidence that #jews are not safe in this country. #reformuk #reform #Hypocrisy #sirkeirstarmer #Brexit #Rotherham #oldham #raceriots #policeinvestigation #racerelations #diversityandinclusion #race #socialjustice #fakenews #mediabias #censorship #corruption #humanrights #politics #democracy #government #security #criminallaw #ruleoflaw #courts #crimeandjustice #criminaljustice #criminaljusticesystem #LabourParty #classwar #groominggangs #conservativeparty #conservative #northernireland #england #english #greatbritain #violence #judaism #antisemitism #gaza #chorley https://lnkd.in/eaxQTmWy

This is a critical and awful moment for the UK whose values are being perverted for the personal gain of the most incompetent, useless, corrupt + racist crop of politicians [likely] ever seen.Rishi & Co are trying to hide their proactive role in #genocide with the shockingly unfounded LIE. They are conflating the 76% of peaceful citizen demand for a ceasefire with a false and dangerous narrative around Islamic extremism + anti-semitism.His speech follows the sheer hydrochloric toxicity of Braverman and ceasefire debacle in Parliament last week + was loaded with utter BS - trying to present public opposition to genocide, infanticide, destruction of hospitals, machine-gunning people while they gather for flour, shooting children in the head + countless evidenced war crimes... as an attack on democracy + support for terrorists. The Conservative party is led by an amoral, unelected genocide-enabler who has the cretinous shame to accuse 'extremists' of tearing the country apart. He thinks the pop'n are idiots and hopes the ignorant/naive subscribe to fear-mongering. His parties' doubling-down on racism and authoritarianism coincidentally occurred days after his smashing defeat by pro-ceasefire #GeorgeGalloway 40% to 12% in a marginal by-election.For all his sins #Cameron tried to bring the party away from fascist extremism - a desperate and unelected Rishi dives head-first into the sewage of fear and racism.THESE ARE UK DEMOCRATIC VALUES IN ACTION -THE PEOPLE VOTED AGAINST GENOCIDE.THESE ARE PEACEFUL PROTESTS AGAINST GENOCIDE - IN THE BEST UK TRADITION - AS RULED PLAUSIBLE BY THE HIGHEST COURT ON THE PLANET #ICJ. THE PM NEEDS TO BURY HIS COMPLICITY IN DOMESTIC HATE & TERROR.He sickeningly even tries to influence the Police. "We respect your independence but .. if you lockup [peaceful] protesters - we will back you " (hint)It is our laws, rule and enforced by and independent judiciary that represents the BEST of the UK. These laws are what separate us from the true animals in our society. The law against genocide is the most important law on the planet - the ruling politicians are breaking it.Despite corrupted media - the people are not as dumb or racist as people think. Unsurprisingly even the non-muslim majority don't like their taxpayer's money going to the genocide of children while people are sleeping homeless on the streets and public services rot without funding. If you are the majority and think that they care about you - be mindful that these are the same corrupt officials that enriched themselves and their mates through covid policies for which they are now coincidentally restating the past historical data to substantially and conveniently reduce the excess mortality statistics.Intellectually inept MPs have lost their way, trying to rule the people instead of serving them. I hope more independents run to save this country from racist imbeciles.

1. Remember 2003? Little was built into the planning as to what would take place after the fall of Baghdad. Consequential factors in almost every realm of violence and politics.2. What will happen after this election. I have seen little coverage or forethought as to what is expected. If Trump is elected what will happen in our streets? Will BLM, Antifa, and others mobilize? Will the court systems be energized by lawsuits re election fraud? What if Harris is elected? What will happen with Mr. Trump’s criminal cases. Will he see prison time? If so, how will that affect the country. What should we expect?

The Democratic primary in a suburban district of New York City has been dramatically altered by the unprecedented spending of pro-Israel political groups aiming to unseat Representative Jamaal Bowman. Bowman, known for his strong criticism of Israel, has become the target of a massive campaign led by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and its affiliates. In the wake of the October 7 Hamas attack, AIPAC and the United Democracy Project have funneled $14.5 million into negative advertisements against Bowman, making this the most expensive House race influenced by an interest group. The campaign against Bowman focuses less on Israel and more on portraying him as a divisive figure who opposes President Biden and causes controversy. This strategy appears to be working, with polls showing Bowman's opponent, George Latimer, in a strong lead. Latimer, supported by significant contributions from Republican megadonors via AIPAC, is presented as a progressive pro-Israel candidate. The intense financial intervention has sparked backlash from left-leaning organizations and figures like Senator Bernie Sanders, who warn of the dangerous precedent it sets. Critics argue that such spending could silence voices critical of Israel and be replicated by other wealthy interest groups across the political spectrum. AIPAC's involvement marks a significant shift in their political strategy, leveraging unprecedented funds and aggressive tactics to influence election outcomes. The outcome of this race could signal to Democrats that aligning with pro-Israel positions is both a politically and financially beneficial stance. This development highlights the evolving dynamics within the Democratic Party regarding Israel, the influence of super PACs in American politics, and the broader implications of external funding on electoral integrity. The intense focus on Bowman, who has a significant Jewish constituency and has been vocal against the Israel-Hamas conflict, emphasizing the complex interplay of local and international politics in U.S. elections. #USPolitics #IsraelLobby #JamaalBowman #AIPAC #DemocraticPrimary #ElectionInfluence #PoliticalSpending #ProgressivePolitics #USIsraelRelations #CampaignFinance #NY16 #ProgressiveValues #LocalLeadership #YourVoteMatters #ElectionDay #PoliticalActivism #Turnout2024https://lnkd.in/e8FCT6-J

THREAT TO DEMOCRACY 2024? HOME TRUTHS FROM A UK PERSPECTIVEWith fears growing in the UK over a major conspiracy of lies and deceit by the Labour government against The People of Britain, we look to the 2024 US Presidential Election for some hope that trust in political leadership can be restored. However, since many Brits continue to consume fake news from our legacy media, my brief video is intended to provide balance by bring facts and truth. Kamala Harris would be the worst President that America could possibly have. She was the worst performer in standing as Democrat Presidential nominee for 2020 and didn’t get a single vote from her own party. Since leaving office in 2021 despite relentless attempts to take him down financially through a weaponised justice system and to assassinate not only his character but to take away his life, Donald Trump has demonstrated extraordinary courage and commitment to his country and his nation. The question that we all should be asking is why has so much been done to exclude Trump from standing for office and what motivate those behind this? America, and thereby the UK and the rest of the world face a real and present danger from forces that evidently are not standing for, but against humanity and peace. They are behind suggestions that martial law could be declared in the US if Trump wins the Presidency. Their intention would be to prevent a peaceful, lawful transition through the normal process of certification on January 6th and inauguration on January 20th. That certainly sounds like a threat to democracy.#uspresidentialelection2024 #donaldtrump #kamalaharris #threattodemocracy #savedemocracy
